2025 Summer Instructional Assistant

Six-Week Position (Training Week: 6/16-6/20; Program Weeks: 6/23-7/25, not in session 7/4)

Summary Statement:

Summer instructional assistants (IAs) will gain deeper knowledge through professional development and hands-on experience and further explore the field of education of students with learning differences. IAs will work alongside experienced educators and participate in the delivery of research-based methodology in reading, written language, and math. They are responsible for supporting teachers and the overall programming for students. IAs must join the faculty for a week of training before the five-week student program.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist in classrooms with teachers to teach groups of not more than four students following the individual objectives, methods, and techniques designated by Hill Learning Center's staff and/or procedures manual; Provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students; Assist with programmatic curricular activities; Attend faculty meetings as scheduled; Supervise students outside of class as scheduled; Support teachers with classroom preparation; Support summer leadership with program support; Attend the Parent/Guardian Open House event.

The Summer Instructional Assistant opportunity is paid for current undergraduate/graduate students and newly licensed teachers. Compensation is commensurate with experience, starting at $15/hour with half-day and full-day positions available.
